  • Ulen-Hitterdal Drivers Education
  1. Classroom Education – Must complete 30 hours (4 or more absences = Fail)
  • Must pass with a 70% or higher (No missing assignments)
  • Offered free of charge 2nd/3rd Quarter
  • Issued Blue Card upon successful completion
  1. Permit Test – Must be at least 15 years old (Parent must sign application)
  • Written (computer) test – Call or go to website to schedule / Ada, Mahnomen, DL, Moorhead
  • Bring Blue Card, SS Card/HS transcript, and certified Birth Certificate
  • Pass, pay, vision test and get picture taken
  1. Behind-the-Wheel – sign up for three sessions (MUST bring permit)
  • Must pay $250 ($300 out of district) before last session (You can us the UHHS E-Store on the school website!!)
  • Complete 12 hours of BTW (3 session – 4 hours each)
  • Supervised Driving Log – 40/50 hours, 15 hours at night / Adult 21 yrs. old
  • Pass BTW and receive White Card
  1. Provisional License – Must be 16 years old
  • Must have held your permit for 6 months…with NO violations (Practice driving!)
  • Schedule Drivers Test appointment at DMV
  • Bring to DMV: Permit, White Card, Proof of Vehicle insurance, Log Sheet/POI Certificate

Driving Restrictions – can’t drive after midnight / Everyone buckled / No phones / Alcohol = 18 yrs.

  • 1st 6 months – only 1 non-related 16 year old passenger allowed
  • 2nd 6 months – only 3 non-related 16 year old passengers allowed
